The Roseland Peninsula is well known for its beautiful scenery. St.Just in Roseland, with its famous church and tropical garden, is close at hand as are Trelissick Gardens (National Trust).
Truro, about 30 minutes drive away, is a bustling small city with very good shopping facilities and ample car parking. It can be reached by road or via the King Harry car ferry which is close to Trelissick. Falmouth can also be reached via the car ferry, although there is a regular passenger ferry from St. Mawes Harbour (20 minute crossing).
